Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Why won’t Nintendo give us something good.

The Glue:
Please note: This segment is kinda old, but when it came out I wrote about it…don’t know why I held it for so long…enjoy
Okay, first off let me get something out of the way. I AM A DIE HARD ZELDA FAN. Sorry for the all caps, but you get the point.
This is just my opinion but, why does Nintendo seem to feel that we will be satisfied with just a DS title. They seem to only hurt themselves by putting out mediocre titles that we don’t want..but satisfy the “demographic they want to pursue.” To be perfectly honest, it makes business sense, but it will only hurt them in the long run as the other consoles grow stronger, and their fan base larger.
Fan reaction to the announcement seems to be mixed from, “This will be cool” and “can’t wait” to “I wish that Nintendo would stop messing around and just give us the darker edgier Zelda that we all want.”
The sad thing is though, that despite all of my whining and bitching here, I’m probably going to buy it. I’ve bought every Zelda game, and still own every console to play theym on (Minus Famicom, I’m still waiting on that opportunity). I’m just concerned, like every other gamer in my situation, that I’ve completely left Nintendo behind, and crave mature games. I crave my GOW 2, Halo, and Bioshock, but in the end I will always have a special place in my heart for the Legend of Zelda, more than likely no matter what Nintendo does to it. Hopefully Nintendo will wake up and realize the error of its ways and try to cater to its loyal fans over the years….but I won’t hold my breath.
Just a heads up…there will be no Glue next week, while I work on fullfilling my promise of Tango Squad for 3 Solid Weeks. Hope you guys enjoy. Till Then…..
