Quick Hit…The Stars are on my Radar again!

Wow….They’ve been workin at it.

The Glue:

I know I normally don’t go into uber hockey mode until playoff time, but the Stars have re-appeared on my radar of significance. Now I’ll admit I’m a fan of this team, no matter what happens to them, I’ll still only root for them in the great sport of hockey, but I’ll be the first to admit that the brand of hockey they were putting out wasn’t the greatest of displays. Then there was the whole Avery fiasco…and the team just seemed destined to be the cellar dweller for the year, which was honestly dissapointing, considering how much promise they showed reaching the Western Conference Finals last year. But now after all of that, playing injured without their top defenceman and Captain, they seem to have found a way to put it together and push forward through the division, winning several games and climbing back into the standings.

While this is a great feeling to not have the team utterly decimated, and an air of optimism around the franchise again, they aren’t done yet. There is still a while to go and only time will tell if this is just a midseason spurt…or the start of something good. They have my interest again and I’ll be keeping my eye out, here’s hoping for good things.

MYP Release: Tango Squad – Guard Duty Ep 1

The Glue:
Today is really here! Happy Presidents Day….though that’s not why I’m really excited. Today is the day I get to do the release that I’ve been teasing, “Tango Squad – Guard Duty.” For those who missed last week I have a brief synopsis for them of what the series is about and then I’ll move on. Trust me I won’t reintroduce it each episode.

Tango Squad is set in the Halo universe, and centers around a small squad, and I mean small, that has been tasked with guarding something. While this may not seem interesting in itself, it leaves a lot of time on their hands to discuss various topics.

Well I’m pleased to announce without much further ado, the release of Episode 1, of my first Machinima series ever, “Pilot.” I know what you’re thinking…catchy name, but I figured this would be a simple name to start with, and we’ll see where we go from here. You can find the link here, or on the side panel of links of my other videos. Anyways, enjoy, and I’m going to bed.

Oh and before I forget again, thanks to the greatness of Bungie and Microsoft, for the license to create machinima and to use the Halo soundtrack as well. I hope you enjoy.

The Glue:
This February I thought I would go ahead and start the glue commentary off with a nice Anime review, as if you didn’t get enough Anime last month with the AMV. Today I’ll be discussing Hikaru no Go, as it is on my mind at the moment.

For those of you who haven’t already seen this series, you should check it out. I stumbled upon Hikaru no Go when I was looking for an interesting series that would just pique my interest. I had recently discovered One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist had just ended, but everything else was boring and stagnant. Then I discovered this piece regarding a young boy who, while playing in his grandfathers attic, awakens a spirit of a former Go master from another Century. The Spirit inhabits his body and the two are then together. To the spirits dismay Hikaru has no interest in playing Go, but at the spirits wailings Hikaru begins his journy playing Go, discovering that through growth this is a game that he actually loves to play.

I enjoyed this series, mainly for the intersting aspects of how Go society works in Japan. Everything from how there are thousands of players to how a profesional is made. If you have the time I suggest you check it out.

The Glue:
Well I’ve been teasing it since December, and you’ve had a month to mull it over. Now I’m going to make you wait just a little bit longer, BUT I do have something for you to see today. I am officially announcing the first machinima series release ever by MYP or by me for that matter, Tango Squad – Guard Duty.

I know what you may be thinking, a Machinima…really? My answer…well Yeah! Tango Squad is set in the Halo universe, and centers around a small squad, and I mean small, that has been tasked with guarding something. While this may not seem interesting in itself, it leaves a lot of time on their hands to discuss various topics.

Now I could go on and on about what it’s going to be, and build it up forever but I thought I’d let you get a small glimpse of it in teaser form. So here it is, please enjoy, comment and let me know what you think. Oh and thanks to the greatness of Bungie and Microsoft, for the license to create machinima and to use the Halo soundtrack as well. I hope you enjoy the teaser, and come back for the official release of the first episode, which I’ve scheduled for February 16th, 2009 (Yay Presidents day).
